Goodbye L'Engai

Driving away from the volcano Oldonyo L'Engai in the parched plains at the base of the Rift Valley. This is the track that will become a major highway if the government has it's way in 2012. The highway will continue up the hills and bisect the Serengeti National Park, home to one of the greatest migrations on the planet. If the highway was built south of the Serengeti along existing roads, it would link hundreds of villages while avoiding the Serengeti and Ngorongoro ecosystem.
